What is Image Flip?
Image Flip mirrors an image horizontally, vertically, or both. Often used to correct mirror-image scans, prepare graphics for printing, or generate symmetric variants.
How to use Image Flip
- Drop one or more images.
- Pick the flip axis (horizontal / vertical / both).
- Click "Flip".
- Download the flipped images.
Why use AinnoBox for this
- Flipping is a pure pixel rearrangement, so the output is mathematically identical in detail to the input — no resampling, no softening.
- Horizontal, vertical and both-axis options cover mirrored scans, upside-down captures and 180-degree equivalents in one control.
- Batch flipping is the quick fix when a scanner or a front-facing camera has mirrored an entire set of images.
- Selfies and scanned documents are personal by nature; flipping them locally avoids handing them to a web service for a trivial operation.
- Free, unlimited, no account and no watermark.
Image Flip — frequently asked questions
- Is flipping the same as rotating 180 degrees?
- Only when you flip on both axes at once — that is exactly a 180-degree rotation. A single horizontal flip produces a mirror image, which is a genuinely different picture: text in it reads backwards.
- Why does my selfie look wrong after flipping?
- Front cameras usually mirror the preview, so you are used to seeing yourself reversed. Flipping gives the view other people have, which often feels unfamiliar even though it is the truer image.
- Does flipping degrade the image?
- No. Pixels are copied to mirrored positions with no interpolation, so detail is preserved exactly. Only the final save re-encodes the file, and choosing PNG makes even that lossless.
